i was in a band call the leeves and jeff was in a band called dumpster and we went on tour together in a rented van up into the snowy northeast. while way too drunk after a show in richmond, va we ended up back at kemper from sports bar's house. me and jeff sat and talked about guided by voices for what kemper would either describe as "the entire night" or "way too long." fast forward to a halloween 2 years later and me and jeff covered guided by voices with a cassette tape as our drummer. then one day when i was hungover i went to jeff's garage and made up songs and recorded them over the tape with the drums from the gbv cover show. we listened to that tape a lot then decided to play a few shows. as all our other bands stagnated we decided to get real and ask kelly (of The Nondenoms), to play bass. at this point we stopped using a guitar in E and a guitar in C# and just used a guitar in D (Daddy Gone Cat Fishin'. Alright, Daddy!). and now we are beginning the recording process of an actual album. i think we are caught up.....
